Mikami Shihan's Five Maxims of Karate Practice
1. We will accomplish more, if our hurdle is set higher.
2. We win with our mind first in a Kumite.
3. Repeating one technique or Kata many times is a basis of reaching the understanding of this Art. All eventually become subconsciously automatic
4. Renzoku Waza is a basis of control of all parts of our body. It requires harmonious breathing.
5. In a close combat, the first move is to lower your hips (thus lower the body's gravity)
