Brief Karate History

Captain at Waseda University's school sanctioned athletic club. Practiced under Mr. Matsuo Shibuya and Mr. Tsutomu Oshima (Founder of Shotokan Karate of America). Received a strong influence from Waseda's seniors such as Mr. Shigeru Egami and Mr. Tadao Okuyama. Came to the USA in 1962 and organized and taught at many college karate clubs in the East for many years.
Joined Waseda's Karate Club on the day of Master Funakoshi's funeral day and now feels strong connection to the spirit, philosophy, and teaching of Master Funakoshi.
